Ratecutters was a startup mortgage broker with designs on franchising throughout Canada. For this reason it was important to build a website that services current needs in the local market, all the while allowing for scalability into a larger site as franchises are secured.

An easy to navigate site was created portraying the professional image that Ratecutters wanted to present itself with. A part of the Ratecutters logo was animated using Flash to provide an element of uniqueness.

A complex online mortgage application was built featuring over 100 form fields. Using the form, potential clients may securely submit all information required to apply for a mortgage directly to the appropriate Ratecutters broker based on the user’s selection of province and city.

Several backend tools were created that allow staff to change mortgage rates and add new brokers/franchises as they are hired. As well a complex e-mail system was created that allows the potential mortgage customer to subscribe to receive updates to mortgage rates as they change. The system automatically e-mails these people when Ratecutters staff posts rate changes to its website.
