The world of politics is changing thanks to the growing popularity of the internet. Politicians and elected officials are finding that a properly website is a necessary way to get their message out to and stay in touch with their constituents.

Merv Tweed is Brandon-Souris’ Member of Parliament. Sobkow Technologies developed websites for both Merv’s election campaign and his eventual MP office.

For Merv’s election website in particular, it was important to develop a site that was consistent with his local marketing signage and advertising. As well, a design had to be consistent with his political party’s national marketing.

As Brandon-Souris’ representative in Ottawa, Merv has a responsibility to communicate information with constituents on a regular basis. It is for this reason that it was critical to develop a backend system whereby news, events and pictures may be instantly posted as they are relevant.

As well a mailing list was created that allows for communication with constituents who subscribe to receive updates.
